Westmead Hospital

Complete reinstatement of all Hospitality, retail & Admin. areas

CJ Duncan was recently awarded the construction contract for a $6 million hospitality, retail and commercial project at Australia’s largest Healthcare facility, Westmead Hospital. This project includes the creation of six new cafés and restaurants, a new retail wing housing a pharmacy, newsagent, florist, gift stores etc. In addition to these new hospitality and retail related areas CJ Duncan is also constructing a new hospital reception area, cashier office, admissions centre plus numerous admin and office related functions. Given the vast number of front of house areas this upgrade brings to the hospital, the existing building envelope will be expanded to accommodate these uses. This project is expected to be completed in November 2011 and will take 12 months to complete.

Macquarie Bank

Building Panel Member

In addition to ‘one-off’ commercial fitout projects CJ Duncan was recently placed on Macquarie Bank’s Builder’s Panel following a detailed selection process. Being one of only two panel members automatically provides CJ Duncan with the opportunity to tender any commercial office related projects for Macquarie Bank.

Kookai

National store roll-out

CJ Duncan recently secured the roll-out of new concept Kookai stores across the country. This agreement commenced with the fitout of an entirely new Kookai store at the recently completed Top Ryde City Shopping centre and will expand to a further 10 store fitouts on the Eastern seaboard in the coming months. CJ Duncan were able to secure this national roll-out contract by offering Kookai a unique and cost effective procurement model that saw all joinery, tiles, mirrors, glass, light fittings and various other interior items procured from our Chinese based production partner (Vision Pacific Group). These items were shop drawn, samples sourced and ultimately produced in China with CJ Duncan’s local installation teams including Joiners, Carpenters, Glaziers etc. fitting off these items in-store.

CJ Duncan is currently in talks with a number of national retailers and hospitality businesses with regard to the adoption of this unique and highly cost effective offshore procurement model. It is anticipated that this model could save clients up to 40% on multi store roll-outs.
