CJ Duncan. Building since 1979.

CJ Duncan is a construction company that didn’t arrive yesterday - in fact we’ve been around for over 30 years. We have consistently grown over the past three decades, maintaining strong relationships with our clients and simply delivering solid, defect free projects. We take the time to understand our client’s needs and meticulously plan each project. This focus has seen our clients engage us to deliver increasingly complex and ambitious projects.

Based in Sydney, the company operates throughout the Sydney metro area, North to the Central Coast and Hunter region and South to the Illawarra. Our goal is to assist our clienats with all aspects of their building needs, ensuring the building process is efficient and effective. We provide our clients with a complete range of design, delivery and maintenance services, designed to save them time and money.

Managing Director

Ben brings to the team more than 15 years of experience in all facets of construction, remedial and fitout projects. As Managing Director Ben holds overall responsibility for the business. Ben’s goal is to continue CJ Duncan’s growth and secure its position as an honest builder that delivers consistently high results to its clients and stakeholders.

Founder & Director

Chris Duncan is the Founding Director of CJ Duncan, a company he started over 30 years ago. Chris has been instrumental in shaping CJ Duncan into a successful medium sized construction company with a solid reputation. Chris has built many long-standing relationships throughout his career. Some spanning decades. His strong personal philosophies of honesty and loyalty are reflected throughout the company.

Ian is a registered builder with over 20 years of experience in the construction industry. His experience includes all facets of Estimating and Cost Planning, Project Management, Administration & Supervision. Ian has extensive experience with live environment projects, carefully coordinating all stakeholders to ensure overall project success.

SAFETY

Safety is our highest priority. Nothing is more important than providing a safe working environment for our project team, clients, sub-contractors and the public.

CJ Duncan uses a comprehensive Occupational health & safety (OHSE) management system across all aspects of our business to ensure the highest levels of safety are maintained.

Our OHS management system satisfies all legislative and WorkCover requirements and complies with all national and industry codes of practice. Additionally, our OHS management system is accredited by the NSW Dept. of Commerce.

ENVIRONMENT

CJ Duncan is a responsible corporate system and conducts its business in ways that ensure no project has a negative impact on the environment. In fulfilling our corporate responsibilities and objectives, we strive for continual improvement and compliance with environmental legislation.

INSURANCE

CJ Duncan has a traditional base in the insurance sector. We have built lasting relationships with a variety of insurance companies and loss adjusting firms. Our organisation works hard to provide quality solutions that meet the needs of both insurance companies and their customers who have suffered loss. This hard work ensures that we have become a preferred builder for numerous Insurance companies, brokers and independent loss adjusting companies.

To provide a complete service to the insurance industry we recognize the need to be flexible. Due to this CJ Duncan have built a project management team capable of managing high volume domestic claims quickly and efficiently, and major commercial claims professionally and diligently, saving the insurance company time and  money. CJ Duncan employs multi-skilled tradesmen capable of completing a diverse and varied range of trade tasks. This results in cost savings when compared with using unrelated contractors to perform these duties.

Over the last 25 years CJ Duncan has developed a specialised team whose breadth of skills enables them to manage client requirements in the restoration and refurbishment of any building. CJ Duncan is a company specialising in the repair and restoration of residential buildings with over 30 years of experience. We service all major insurers and loss adjusters servicing claims in the Sydney metropolitan area, Wollongong and the Central Coast during business as usual, catastrophes and major events.

Our specialised services include roof repairs and replacement, fencing, landscaping, plumbing and gas, leak detection, electrical, glazing, cabinet making, carpentry and joinery, plastering, painting, flooring, tiling, bricklaying, rendering, concreting, asbestos removal and waste management.

Our purpose-built claims management platform was developed to meet the specific requirements of the insurance repair industry and offers claims data at each stage of the claims process. This allows our clients to make timely decisions based on an accurate real-time reporting.

COMMERCIAL CLAIMS

REMEDIAL BUILDING AND STRATA REPAIRS

CJ Duncan are a remedial building and engineering specialist serving strata managers, engineers and architects to prepared specifications.

Remedial building is a complex style of construction involving numerous stakeholders and invasive construction techniques. We understand that the majority of remedial projects we undertake will involve homes and businesses that remain occupied throughout the construction process. As such, our Project Managers and Site Supervisors are trained to effectively and regularly communicate with residents, tenants, business owners and our clients in an effort to keep all parties informed.

We are mindful that the construction work we undertake will impact these people. In an effort to keep these disruptions to a bare minimum, our project teams plan each stage of the project meticulously, keeping interruptions to residents and business owners top-of-mind. CJ Duncan’s reputation for building excellence in both the residential sector and the remedial sectors lead our team into the Home Owners Warranty market were we have successfully completed hundreds of projects. We are a preferred remedial builder for all Home Warranty Insurers.

Projects in this sector vary significantly in scope, complexity and value. We complete projects in the HWI sector ranging from defect repairs on a single dwelling valued at 10,000, the completion of a half built home and up to a multi million contract rectifying structural defects on a residential unit complex.

CJ Duncan Interiors has become one of the most highly sought after fitout contractors in Sydney, known for its ability to deliver fast tracked, complex fitouts and projects in occupied premises, where tenants cannot be interrupted. Our proven success in delivering these complex projects sees us regularly being called on to provide pre-construction services to clients, assisting with buildability input, offering programming advice and critically assessing services design before construction works start.
